NEED A LITTLE LUBRICATION?

by Miss Bliss

For the first seven years of my relationship with Mr. Bliss, we never used “store-bought” lubrication. Our sex was passionate, deep, and amazing with only our bodies’ natural lubricants. One day, we decided to add Wet’s Light Lubricant to our play and discovered that personal lubricants can add a whole new dimension of pleasure to lovemaking.

ADD A LITTLE LUBRICATION TO YOUR LOVEMAKING

pin up with fan

1. INCREASE VAGINAL PLEASURE WITH LUBE There is nothing worse than being touched by a dry hand when you are not quite wet yet. Sometimes, a girl can take awhile to relax, get turned-on, and start getting wet. Place a quarter sized amount of lube in your hands and rub them together to warm it up. When your hands have warmed the lube, start touching her slowly inside and out, and soon, you will have a girl moaning and quivering with pleasure.

2. INCREASE ANAL PLEASURE For some, being penetrated anally is relatively easy; for others, it takes more time and technique to relax and open. Lube up your hands and mentally make a note that one will hand will play with the clit, while the other plays with the anus. (Never touch the anus and the vagina with the same hand! This can cause bacterial and yeast infections. After any anal play, make sure to wash hands immediately.) As you play with her two pleasure zones, pay attention to keep adding lube to her anally if she is still tight there. Listen and make sure to ask her if your massaging her is making her feel good. Ask her if she needs more lube. When she desires penetration, make sure to add extra lube to her and to your strap-on before entering her. With anal, there is never too much lube!

3. GOING ALL NIGHT? LUBE CAN PREVENT SORENESS Sometimes sex without enough lubrication can quickly lead to clitoral and vaginal soreness. Thus, even though a girl is multi-orgasmic, she may want to stop sexual play early because she does not want to become even more sore. So make sure your fingers are dripping wet and she will want to have you make her come all night long.

4. USING CONDOMS? USE LUBE! The only birth control that protects against 99.9% of all STDs is condoms. Many girls do not enjoy condoms because they can “stick” to the vaginal walls, making sex feel drier and less comfortable. Using lube with condoms will increase pleasure and decrease your awareness of the rubber latex. Also, if your man does not like the feel of condoms, advise him to place a small drop of lube in the inside tip of the condom. A little interior lubrication will make your man forget he is wearing a rubber.

5. ADD LUBE TO YOUR HAND JOBS Sometimes it takes a girl awhile to realize that men will enjoy her handjobs much more if they are lubricated. As with girls, warm up a quarter-sized amount of lube in your hands by rubbing them together, than place your slick hands on him and see him shake with desire.

6. IF YOU USE TOYS, YOU NEED LUBE Girls love to use dildos and strap-ons with their partners, but it will feel a lot better if properly lubricated. While wearing a strap-on, stand in front of your partner and stroke your “cock” with lube. Show your partner how hard she has made you as you stroke and lube yourself up for her. Believe me, she will enjoy the show!

7. LUBE IS THE ANSWER TO DRY MOUTH Sometimes when we are being decadent creatures, we partake in substances that leave a girl with dry mouth. Without saliva, it is very hard to lubricate your partner naturally. At these times, make sure to drink lots of bottled water and pull out your bottle of Wet Light to help make your partner glide.

8. REMEMBER, ORAL FIRST, LUBE SECOND It is not fun or the least bit yummy to taste lubricants, and some of the flavored lubes are the worst-tasting of all! So, remember to enjoy your partner orally before she is covered in a not-so-tasty taste.

9. TRY DIFFERENT TYPES OF LUBE UNTIL YOU FIND YOUR FAVORITE There are many kinds of lubricants on the market today and it may take you awhile to find the right lube for you. Some are too sticky, some taste too sugary-sweet, and some taste too chemically. (Not that one should be ingesting lubricant… but if you are into deep, sensuous play, chances are you will taste lube at some point.) After much experimentation, I have grown most fond of Wet Light Personal lubricant. It is not sticky and does not taste noticeably bad. When you go to a sex shop, ask a salesperson for recommendations. Some lubes interfere with condoms, so be careful while making your selection. A great resource is the online store, Babeland, which reminded me to let you know lubricants with the spermicide Nonoxynol-9 can cause allergic reactions.

WHICH LUBRICANT DO YOU USE?

BLISS

Funny the other day I couldn’t find my lube and then realized I started freaking out. I didn’t know how I would do without my Astroglide….. I swear by it. It is the warming kind. I find that most warming lubricants get too hot and make me sensitive ” down there” , but I have had such good luck with this particular one.

I find it amusing that it was just the only day I realized how much I would have been lost without it.

Another concern. . .some ladies may have problems with glycerine based lubes. Glycerine is sugar based and yeast just loves to munch on sugar. I have never had a problem, but it is possible.

My new favorite lube is KY Warming Liquid (they make it in a jell too, but I find the gell version kinda sticky).

At Self Serve (my favorite sex store) they have a saying. . .”Change your lube, change your life!” I always keep at least two brands (in different consistencies) on hand. Some situations need a lube with a more liquid consistency and some call for a slightly thicker lube.

But any way you look at it. . .Love my lube! Once again, thanks for opening up the topic, Bliss! Great information!

Ah Babeland! My favorite! I was so excited after moving from Seattle to find that they have a store here in LA! (I lived 2 blocks away from the one in Seattle, which came in handy…) Their online store is also nice if you’re the shy type. With each new toy, they give you very handy care instructions on how to take care of your toy to make it safe and last.

As for lube, they have a nice one called ‘Sliquid’ that I’ve found. They’ve got a great variety and the staff are great at recommending one that will work for you.

Great blog Bliss. Keep em coming!

Don’t ask me how or why I know this…Barbara Walters uses Astroglide. But I swear by WET Light. WET has an amazing line of products & some are doctor recommended. I don’t work for WET, but I do sell some of their products.

its nice you bring this topic out. i find in my circle of friends, that most of the girls are shy to talk about any of these things. i must join them all together to have a serious discussion about these topics that you discuss. anywho. the lube that i have recentluy purchased (as a gift i dont have the name of, but its silky, not sticky and i like it, i think i will have to experiment with more though, because this one is a bit watery.. and runs down my hand…

nonoxyl 9 is the devil DON’T USE IT LADIES!!! Fuck. I ran out of pills just in time for an important night with my man. No bay bays for me right now and I just wasn’t in the mood for condoms. So I thought I’d try something different. I know nothing is a fool proof as condoms, but i wanted to try out the female protection.
I got these clear, dissolving nonoxyl 9 squares that put a “film” over your cervix. I should’ve know from the description how ridiculous it was, but no. I tried it anyway. The night was fabulous. The morning was HELL!
What that blasted chemical does is cut up the vaginal and cervix walls. Tiny, tiny cuts. At least that’s what the computer said it does. I didn’t feel the tiny “cuts” per say just PAIN! Like i couldn’t even stand up straight or go poo even w/ out my insides cringing. Took almost a full day for the pain to go away. Seriously world…is it not time for a NICE, functional, and WIDELY AVAILABLE female birth control?! What the fuck year is it already? And why in the hell would anyone tell women to use this horrible chemical. Even if you’re not allergic…fuck chemicals! About lube….coconut oil! Tastey!!, makes you look hot under candlelight when your entire body has been rubbed down with it, so good for your skin and healthy to digest, smells wonderful, and is All NATURE-AL!

xoxo,
Michelle
ps. Kimono condoms are the best! Like wearing nothing at all!
