BI PRIDE EVENTS IN LA, NY & SD

by Miss Bliss

holding hands in pride

LGBT Pride is here again and many bisexual organizations are planning events for bi-girls.  Don’t sit around this year complaining that it’s impossible to meet other bi-girls.  Attend an event, show your pride, and meet new fabulous friends.

New York, Los Angeles and San Diego are all hosting bi pride events and I hope you attend if you are able.  If you are organizing a bi pride event that is not listed here, please add it as a comment.

We are looking for at least 30 marchers!!!! Anyone on the bi spectrum counts, regardless of whether you identify as bisexual, fluid, pansexual, queer, etc. Partners, friends, and allies are also welcome to march with us!

We would also be extremely grateful for any monetary donations, as costs are entirely funded by the pockets of our very own community members! Even $5 or $10 helps!

Nonsense Revolution
(Canada, 2008, 88 mins)
Directed By: Ann Verrall

A close-knit group of teenaged friends are torn apart after the unexpected death of their bisexual friend, Caz. A year has passed since the accident and only one girl, Tess, also bisexual, is willing to talk about that tragic night. Caz suddenly reappears as an eternally-horny guardian angel, who only Tess can see and it’s up to Tess to reunite the fractured group so Caz can move on in the afterlife.

The Art of Being Straight
(USA, 2008, 70 mins)
Directed By: Jesse Rosen bisexual director!

Bored with New York City, twenty-something Jon moves to Los Angeles to stay with his best friend Andy and his frat boy buddies. While working at an advertising firm Jon finds himself wondering why he’s attracted to his older gay boss. As Jon attempts to untangle his complicated sexuality, his good friend Maddy puts her lesbian relationship in jeopardy when she finds herself attracted to a scruffy male hipster. Eschewing traditional notions of black-and-white sexuality, this mature piece represents the next generation of gay film.

SAN DIEGO BI PRIDE HOSTED BY SAN DIEGO BISEXUAL WOMEN MEETUP

We will be getting together on Saturday June 13th at 12pm in Balboa Park to make signs for Pride (in the grass area south of the fountain by the entrance to the freeway). The bi-forum can bring posterboard and markers for everybody to write/draw whatever they want to say at the parade. If you can bring any extra supplies, that would be great! Come prepared to be creative and bring anyone you’d like. It will be a mixed gender event.

NOTE: The time is not yet set in stone. Save the date!
