BLISS WARRIOR IS TAKING A VACATION

Thank you so much for all of your support since Bliss Warrior began in February of 2007. When I first began the blog, I thought it would be primarily for straight women - a Bi-Girl’s take on love, life, beauty and health. I was more surprised than anyone, when it was bi-girls who started reading, writing, and supporting the work.
I also did not expect this blog to be a launching pad for bisexual organizing and empowerment. Thank you to all the leaders who have started hosting Bliss Brunches across the county and who are planning on making a big Bliss splash at next year’s Pride Events. All of you amaze me and keep me working.
A special thank you to Jungle Jane for encouraging me to build a website for bisexual women to meet others for friendship, community and flirtatious fun. I would have never taken on such a huge project without you. Jungle Jane is also the one who discovered our wonderful programmer, Christian, and I thank him, too, for making the Hotel a live, working, incredible community.
And, of course, I must thank all of the incredible bisexual women I have met across the country and online in the last year and a half. Bisexual women are finally coming out and finding one another. Thank you all for the emails you send expressing how delighted you are to have met bi-girl friends. Thank you to all the testers of Hotel Bliss who are helping create a supportive, fun and safe culture for bi-women to be their wonderful selves. Being bisexual is beautiful and I am so happy we are creating community that celebrates that fact.
But, after a year and a half of writing, programming, organizing, and promoting, I am tired. I desperately need a vacation away from my laptop. So I am taking the rest of August off to have a little break. The Bliss Warrior blog will return in September.

TOO YOUNG FOR MONOGAMY - Tales From the Seattle Brunch

Eight bisexual women have come together for brunch, community and friendship on a rare sunny day in Seattle. This is my first trip to the great state of Washington, and in the last twenty-four hours I have fallen in love with Seattle’s mountains, hills, trees, and clean sparkling air. During brunch, the city woos me even more by introducing me to seven beautiful, bright and beguiling bi-women.
“You are,” asks Sadie, the blonde with perfectly painted dark eyes. “I’m jealous.”
“How is that working out for you,” asks the tall brunette, Nicole, sitting across from me.
“Well, we were monogamous the first year we dated. I think it’s important to establish a relationship first before opening it up. But we’re both in our early twenties and we knew when we first met that we were way too young to be strictly monogamous.”
“I don’t like to share,” says Sadie. “Being with a couple is one thing, but being in a couple and bringing in another? I couldn’t do it.”
“So you both date other people separately,” I ask. “Other girls I know who are in open relationships often say the funny thing about it, is the more you date other people, the more you appreciate your relationship and the less you want to date others.”
“It’s funny you mention that,” says Geneva, looking at me with her clear, bright eyes and pretty freckled skin. “My man will meet one of the guys I am dating and he’ll tell me later, ‘That guy’s not up to your level.’ He does it in a really sweet way, too. It isn’t like he’s trying to put down the guy out of jealousy, he truly wants me to be with men who respect and appreciate me.”
“I’m jealous,” says Sadie. “I want that!”
“Well, darling, anyone as cute as you are, anytime,” Geneva says with a flirtatious smile, completely in her power.
“Me, too,” says Nicole with a fetching smile.
“It isn’t easy. You have to communicate a lot for it to work. I mean, sure, I have buttons that can be pushed and I can get jealous. Like if he dates a petite blonde - everything I am not - it’s hard not to feel a little jealous. But you talk about it, work through it, and grow. So far, it’s worked for us.”
This is why I enjoy bringing bisexual women together for conversation, friendship and support. Some of the girls who came to the brunch are monogamous, others are in open relationships, and some are looking for a combination of both. Simply meeting other women who are creating successful new kinds of committed relationships helps girls to realize there are many options for love. Although some bi-women are content with traditional monogamous relationships, others are searching for something more. By taking a risk and inviting strangers to brunch, bi-women are finding each other and discovering supportive friends.

SHALL WE PLAY A GAME? - ROUND 2

Darling Bliss Warriors,
Hotel Bliss is almost ready for its public launch. After months of hard work and tireless dedication from the Hotel Bliss Team, we are weeks away from the site being completed.
I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the amazing, beautiful, sweet girls who have taken time out of their busy lives to help test, use, develop, and create the first private community for bi and bi-friendly girls.
In the last month, I have been traveling a great deal, which is bad for consistent blog writing, but great for meeting the lovely women who have joined Hotel Bliss. In Toronto, I hosted a brunch with the marvelous, Gryphon (her Hotel Bliss alias). We posted ads on Craigslist, and many bi women came out to dine with us for community and conversation who were not familiar with the Bliss Warrior blog or Hotel Bliss. One of the highlights of the meal, was hearing Gryphon describe her experience using the blossoming site.
“One of the things I love,” she said, “is the diversity of women. There’s everyone from the young goth chick who’s super sweet to the joyful woman in her 40s bouncing on a ball topless. Everyone is super sweet. In fact, what is surprising about the site is how kind and friendly all the girls are to one another.”
Shortly after the brunch, I was delighted to see how many of the girls I met joined the site and became active members. One lovely blonde with the alias, Water Lily, has already organized two more events for bi-girls to meet in Toronto and is using the site to organize, plan, and keep the community growing.
In Los Angeles last week, the luminous Beverly Fairfax and I hosted a brunch where half the women were Hotel Bliss users and the other half were girls new to Bliss Warrior who found us through Craigslist or Myspace. This was the first time where women who had met online at the Hotel, got to meet one another in person. There is something funny when girls only know each other through aliases. When one gorgeous curly-haired fox was sharing a hysterically funny story, Beverly turned to her and said, “Are you Double Entendre?”
She said, “Yes, I am. You’re Beverly Fairfax, right? Hi!” Already online acquaintances, now they were becoming real life friends.
Later, when the brunch was ending and we were paying the bill, one of our new friends asked how we would all connect or stay in touch and I promoted the site. Right away, Beverly said, “One of the nicest aspects about the Hotel is how intelligent the girls are on the site. It is not just a kind community, but a thoughtful one, too.”

1. Next Monday, we are starting Round Two of Bliss Warrior’s Slumber Party Game (CLICK HERE to read more about the game). Round One helped many bi-girls to become new friends when they each answered the question, “What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?” Each day, I posted a naughty answer on the Hotel Bliss site with three names of girls who may have written the answer. Users had 24 hours to guess who they thought wrote the answer and why. When I posted the winner of the last game, I posted a new naughty answer with three new naughty girls. As one user wrote me during the game, “Hotel Bliss is changing my life - I’m not kidding!” I think she was delighted by the many girls who got to know and adore her gorgeous self after reading her naughty answer.
2. Round Two is a little different from Round One because you can choose to answer one of two questions. The first is, “Describe a first time.” A first time can be with a boy or a girl, it can be sexual or not. As long as it is a first time, it qualifies you for the game. The second question you can choose to answer is, “Describe a fantasy you have masturbated to.” Already, many girls have have written to me with their answers and are excited for Monday when the game begins.

As many of you know, I have been working hard to get Hotel Bliss - the first community site for bi-girls - ready for its public launch next month. Thanks to the contribution of our amazing beta-testers, our team has been able to work out the bugs and create the features you want to develop friendships and flirtations with other bi-girls near you.
What makes the site different from other online communities is not just that it is private and for women-only, it is also meant to get you out of your house and meeting bi-girls in your area. In the last year, I have traveled around the country, meeting other brilliant, beautiful bisexual women for brunch. SHALL WE PLAY A GAME?
Written by Miss Bliss on May 7, 2008 – 9:40 am -For my 33rd birthday, I decided to have a slumber party. I invited my six sexiest bi-girl friends and told them they had to come in lingerie. These friends did not know one another, but they trusted me to invite girls like them: smart, sexy, savvy bi-girls.
My man and I spent an entire week getting the apartment ready for the big fest. I covered the floor in red and purple satin cushions and balloons draped ribbons from the ceiling. Candles were everywhere and the music playlist was just right - setting the stage for a sensational event. It was the slumber party I couldn’t have imagined as a little girl, but always wished could happen as an adult.
But before the girls could come to the party, I asked them to help me plan for the main event: THE GAME.
Even when girls know each other are bi, it is tricky to feel comfortable enough to be their open, flirtatious selves until they feel they KNOW the other girls. Many bi-girls are not used to being the aggressor, so they can be shy even when they are with other open girls. With my man’s assistance, we created a game to help my friends get to know one another while ensuring the conversation did not revolve around boring small talk.
A few days before the party, I e-mailed each of the girls three questions and asked them to e-mail me their answers before the day of the party.
The questions were:
1. WHAT IS THE NAUGHTIEST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE?
2. WHAT IS A FANTASY THAT YOU HAVE MASTURBATED TO?
3. HOW DO YOU COME? (OR, WHAT MAKES YOU CLIMAX?)
Each girl sent me their answers, and I printed them out in the same font onto individual index cards. When the girls arrived, we began to play the game.
The first round was, “What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?”
We sat on the satin cushions in a circle, and the first girl picked one of the index cards and read the answer printed on it. She then had to guess who had written the answer. If she guessed right, she got to dare the girl to do something. If she guessed incorrectly, the girl who wrote the answer got to dare her to do something.
It was incredibly fun and interesting to contrast first impressions with the daring, sexy and hot answers on the cards. Did the shy blonde have sex with a coworker on the conference table during lunch? Did the vivacious, bubbly brunette cut school to make out with her best friend?
Soon, the girls felt like they knew each other very well. And, the dares became more and more daring.
Let’s just say… we never got to round 3.
1. WANT TO PLAY THE GAME?
Starting next Monday, we are playing the game at Hotel Bliss. If you are already a member, log in and e-mail me with your answer to the first question, “What is the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?” If you aren’t a member yet, click here and sign up to be a beta tester at the Hotel Bliss slumber party. Membership is completely and totally free to all fabulous females.
Obviously, we cannot dare each other to do things in the cyber-world, but this is an excellent way to get to know other bi and bi-friendly girls in a new and fun way. Besides, you may just learn how naughty you and the girls around you, really are!
2. ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO JOIN THE GAME
We already have a bunch of Hotel Bliss guests who are game to play. You can help encourage others to play by commenting here saying you are in the game, too.
3. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWER HERE AS IT WILL GIVE THE ANSWER AWAY.
E-mail me your answer to the first question through the hotel or directly to bliss@blisswarrior.com ASAP. The sooner I receive your answer, the faster you will be in the game.
4. THE GAME STARTS MONDAY, MAY 12th.
Starting next Monday, I will post one answer a day along with five of the participant names. By checking out the five girls hotel rooms can you figure out which girl wrote the answer? The first girl to guess who wrote the answer will be highlighted as a Hotel Bliss Goddess and, if they desire, they can ask a “truth” question to the author of the answer. Each day a new answer will be posted, along with five new participants, until we’ve posted them all and are ready for question number two.
Don’t be shy, girls. We all want to answer the question, “How do I meet a bi-girl?” The Hotel Bliss Party Game is the best way to get to know other bi-girls and make new fabulous friends.

I WAS THE LAST TO KNOW I WAS BI

I was twenty when I finally decided that there was no getting around it. I was unashamedly, irrefutably bisexual. The funny thing was, I had been saying I was bi since I was fifteen. Now, before you accuse me of being the type of girl that would make out with another girl at parties just to get attention, let me explain that I was hopelessly clueless about who I was even when I was staring straight at myself. Until I was twenty, I called myself theoretically bi. I knew I thought girls were stunning, but I had never felt a deep emotional attachment to one.
That changed when I met Jaime. Jaime was a bi girl who was an acquaintance of mine. I was dating a man at the time and they had fooled around. Overcome with guilt, she insisted to him that she had to tell me. Up until that conversation, I really didn’t know her that well. We started talking and I immediately became interested in this delightful and complex girl. After one conversation, it didn’t matter that she had fooled around with my boyfriend. In fact, I was happy because I never would have discovered how wonderful she was otherwise.
Jaime was just as surprised as I was at my reaction. I fell head over heels for her in a surprisingly short period of time. My man became convinced that I liked girls more than I liked boys. I was fighting spontaneous romantic urges I had never felt before in my life. I called her my inamorata.
Now here’s what I valued most about this precious bit of time where I had my inamorata’s affection. I began to look at women differently. I had always had a somewhat uneasy relationship with other women. I found them intimidating, inscrutable, or too catty for my liking. Now, everywhere I turned I found something wonderful in the women around me. Their beauty, their intellects, their hopes and their creativity. They all reminded me of her. I also had far more self confidence because I loved her and I was a woman just like her, so I began to love myself. I looked different when I saw myself in the mirror. This is what my love for Jaime did to me.

A SIGH OF RELIEF: COMING OUT TO MY FRIEND

I went to go pick up my check, thinking I would just be in and out. In my case, nothing really goes as planned for me. I end up wandering to see my friend that is working her department. Before I can see her, I hear her lispy voice ” hi chi-chi girl!” ( she calls me that in reference to my new clit piercing). I turn and I blush in her direction. She hugs me. ” I knew it was you, because I saw that big butt of yours.” I laugh thinking about all the gossip I have heard regarding my ass from co-workers. I am not offended. I feel complimented, in fact.
So we both get to talking about plans for the weekend. I remind her of my trip to California. She beams ” you are the luckiest girl I know.” She thinks it’s admirable that my man and I have been so strong thus far in our now two-year relationship. She asks if I have been out lately. I mumble something about working and not having time. I mentioned something weird that happened one drunken night recently. Her eyes lit up. “Oh, you have to tell me!” I say, “Nah, you really don’t wanna know.. You’ll probably think I am weird or something…,” I trail off. She assures me, and after five minutes of gentle prodding I admit to having a threesome. Her eyes grow large. “WITH TWO GUYS?!!!!”
I say no…
She stares a second…
I say, ”It was with a guy and a girl, I’m bi.”

TALES OF A DANCER: THE FIRST INSTALLMENT

She put on black slacks, a dressy, low-cut, sexy shirt, and pulled on the black high heeled boots. The flat-iron clamped on each clump of already-straight black hair. Each one had to be in place. She needed this.
She carefully covered each blemish on her face with the pale base make-up. Her eyeliner had to be straight. Her lips had to be red. Her eyelashes had to be curled. If she didn’t get this, where would they go?
He had told her she didn’t have to do it. But she knew she did. He was visibly angry at himself for allowing this to happen. Why couldn’t he do more? Why couldn’t he get another job…maybe two? Why was she being so stubborn about this? But he knew she needed to do it. It was the only way.
She held her breath and tried not to think about it as she gripped the steering wheel.
It’s okay. You can do it.
Her very christian childhood prohibited sex, petting, or even talking intimately before marriage. Kissing was to be EXTREMELY limited and reserved for those who were engaged…and now it had come to this. How could she?

WHAT TO GET AN ESCORT FOR HER BIRTHDAY

I’m sitting in the shade on a pleasantly hot afternoon. The condensation on my glass of whiskey is making a small puddle on the glass top of the bar that Dani and her man Bart have set up on their patio. It’s a birthday barbeque for me and Dani. I’m surrounded by the people who know me best. My chosen family. Each and every one of them knows my secrets and would protect me with all that they have. They know that my work takes so much out of me, in spirit and love and energy. They know I’ve been feeling a bit of care-giver burnout. And every one of them is making sure I simply enjoy myself for a change. I’m in the most comfortable space I can imagine.
But we’ve been drinking for hours now. The sun is starting to sink, and I’m feeling the heat and liquor. I ask Dani if I can lay down for just a bit. She leads me into her bedroom and pulls back the covers while I strip off my pants. I climb between the cool sheets and she tucks me in and places a sweet kiss on my forehead.
“I’ll come wake you in just a bit.” she says, as she’s walking to the door. But as she opens the door, there stand Lia and Jane. These two are my partners in crime. And though Dani offers to shoo them away, I tell her to go ahead and let them in. My girls are always welcome.
They come to the bed, one on each side, and stroke my hair and face, kiss my fingers, ask me if I’m feeling ok. I assure them that I’m just laying down for a bit. Recharging. A look passes between them. A sly smile. They peel the covers down to my waist and encourage me to let them take my tank and bra. “To make you more comfortable”. And they are right. I’m more comfy without them. Especially when Jane runs her hands up from my bellybutton to gently stroke my breasts. They are such dolls. Being soothing, kind, loving. And I’m feeling like the most loved being on Earth.

HOTEL BLISS THANKS THE CURRENT AND SOON-TO-BE TESTERS FOR THEIR PATIENCE

Dearest Bliss Warriors who have offered to be testers:
Early in the week, I decided to allow only a few testers to first test the site to make sure it worked before I invited the 50-plus testers to join.
This is for a couple of reasons:
- The site was only tested by our team of 4 members, so we had no idea how it would work when we had multiple users.
- Our wonderful programmer, Christian, is out of the country for the next two weeks, so we knew if the Hotel didn’t work correctly, we would not be able to fix it until he returned.
- I did not want to waste any tester’s time if the site was not ready.
So, how did the first two days of testing go?
1. Well, the girls who were able to log-in and set up their profiles said they loved the look of the site.
2. They were delighted to know only bi-girls were using the site.
(There is one boy on the site, but he is our programmer - the genius behind the entire site and our fix-it guy. He is also happily engaged and is no threat to the marvelous girls on the site. Testers asked why we had allowed one boy to be a member and the answer is, he is the one to go to when you have technical problems.)
3. They liked the profile editor…
BUT…
- As I expected, the site moved very, very slow. Our graphic designer, Jungle Jane, explained in a bulletin on the site that this is due to the backdrops. They have not been compressed yet which is a lengthy process and that will be fixed when Christian returns in two weeks.
- Some testers could not even log-in to the site from the invitation they received. Christian has been alerted and we’ll see if we can fix that sooner rather than later.
- A few girls had trouble building their pages - and some their profile page is still not working.
SOOOOOO…. I will put the testing on temporary hold until Christian is back and has fixed these problems with the site.
If you have sent in an application to be a beta-tester and have not received an invitation to join yet, be patient. We will approve you as soon as the site is functioning properly (2-3 weeks.)

In the last week, many of you have written to me asking when Hotel Bliss will launch for beta testing. For those of you new to my blog, I am in the process of building the first community site for bi-girls and their bi-friendly girlfriends. So many bi-girls have written to me in the last year asking the question, “How do I meet a bi-girl?” Hotel Bliss will be the site for bi-women to come together for fun, flirtation, friendship, empowerment, and much, much more. Even better, it will be a completely private space where a bi-girl can be her magical self and show a side of herself that she cannot show on sites like myspace and facebook. No need to worry about parents or coworkers finding your profile - we will maintain a strict membership policy to ensure it is a community of bi and bi-friendly women only.
HOTEL BLISS WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Bi-girls!
- Individual profile pages where you can post pictures, upload video, and share your beauty with other bi-girls.
- Post and find that bi-girl you are seeking. At Hotel Bliss, you will be able to post and search postings to find bi-women in your area. Searchable by state and by city, you will easily be able to find girls like you in your area.
- Blogging - tell your bi stories, concerns, questions, accomplishments with girls who get it.
- The Penthouse - a sensual room to share your pictures and writings and receive comments.

- We need passionate bi-girls to join, set up profile pages and begin using Hotel Bliss to make sure there are no bugs or technical problems. The only way bi-girls won’t feel alone is if we work to bring the community together. If you are not on myspace, posting on craigslist is another way to encourage other bi-girls to join us.
- Are you a writer? We also need passionate writers and bloggers to begin sharing their stories. Already on Bliss Warrior, we have two guest bloggers and more have offered to join the party. At Hotel Bliss, you can have your own private blog, and/or choose to share your blogs on the community blog. If you want bi-girls to read your work, please email me at bliss@blisswarrior.com with the e-mail heading “I want to write for Hotel Bliss.”
- Are you a creative soul with something beautiful or sexy to sell? We are also seeking bi-artists, designers, craftswomen, jewelers, knitters, etc… anyone who makes something another girl would want to buy. If you are interested, please e-mail me at bliss@blisswarrior.com with the e-mail heading, “Boutique Sales”. You do not need to have large numbers of your product. Even if you have just one necklace to sell, we will make it easy for you to do so.
- Host a brunch in your hometown and invite bi-girls to meet for community and friendship. During the brunch, invite them to join Hotel Bliss as a tester.

As many of you know, this week marks the one-year anniversary of Bliss Warrior and what an amazing year it has been! When I first began Bliss Warrior, I wondered if anyone would be interested in my blog. You can imagine my surprise as each month it has grown in readership. As of today, I’ve had over 50,000 hits and each day the number of readers grows. So, I thank you all. Thank you for reading, thank you for your letters, and thank you for referring your sexy friends.
Since I began the Ask Miss Bliss column, the most common letter I receive is, “How do I meet a Bi-girl?” There is no bar for bisexual women to meet, so how do bi-girls find one another? Some try posting on Craigslist; others have taken my advice and created bisexual myspace pages; others have been so bold as to host brunches in their hometowns for bi-girls to meet for friendship and community. But still, the letters pour in.
“Miss Bliss, when will you host a brunch in San Francisco?” “When are you coming to Chicago?” “How does a bi-girl in St. Louis meet other bisexuals?” Obviously, I do not yet have the funds or time to host brunches all over the country and even when I do, it seems the week after I leave more emails come in saying, “I missed your brunch. When is the next one?”
Luckily, a few months ago, a talented graphic designer and baby bi-girl in Hawaii contacted me, asking if she could help support the growth of Bliss Warrior. Perhaps some of you noticed that my commercial site became prettier, more professional, and definitely sexier. This is all thanks to my talented Hawaiian designer and the fabulous programmer she brought into our small, grassroots team.
In the last three months, the three of us have been working hard to create an answer to my most frequent question, “How do I meet bi-girls”, and next month, we are proud to announce the opening of the first-ever cyberspace “bar” for bisexual women….
HOTEL BLISS -A PLACE FOR BI-GIRLS AND THEIR FRIENDS
Hotel Bliss will launch in mid-March. It will be for women only and is a completely private site for bi-girls to be themselves and find others in their hometowns.
So many bisexual women have posted on Craigslist only to be harassed by men and to receive ugly pictures of hairy genitalia. On Myspace, many girls have changed their sexual identity from “bi” to “undisclosed” because of unwanted disgusting emails from men who should know better.
Many bi-curious girls write me saying they are too scared their family or coworkers will find out they are bi that they are basically paralyzed into doing nothing. Hotel Bliss will give them a safe, private place to explore their curiosity while meeting like-minded friends.
Hotel Bliss is about community, friendship, and support for bisexual women. It will not be a swinger site or a place for cruising (there are plenty of those sites already out there). It is a place for bi-girls to know that they are not alone and that there are many of us out there who want the same things: healthy, sensuous, ethical, open, honest and fun relationships.
Every year I go to a Pride Parade, and whether it’s in New York or Los Angeles, there is always a moment when I wonder to my man, “Where are all the bi-girls? When do we get our Pride Parade?” Ladies, this is the year for bi-women to stop feeling alone. This is the year we stop being the little “b” in LGBT… This is the year where we become proud of all the expressions of the bisexual identity: monosexual, pansexual, poly, whatever… We are all magical bi creatures and deserve to be as proud as our lesbian, straight, gay and transgender brothers and sisters. The only reason we have not felt this way is because we have felt alone. Hotel Bliss seeks to change this.
I hope you all join me in late March when Hotel Bliss officially launches. This is a grassroots organization and we need your participation and support to help the community grow.
